Ana caught Haywood's eye as the Waagoshin spoke. He nodded, thinking of nothing profound, or at all useful to add or ask. Instead, he turned his attention back to his tricorder in attempt to carry out the orders he had been handed by the FO. "There are any number of specialized treatment units here in this center..." Haywood watched the heart rate of the Waagoshin spike on the tricorder. A series of low beeps came from the rod around the Waagoshin's waste, and just as fast as Haywood could pull his head up, his own heart pounding once more in his throat, Ensign Morgenstern was clutching at the bloody mass that had just been his face. As the first security officer fell to the resounding pain of his injurries, the second had his phaser out, throwing out the order to "take cover!" Whether or not he had planned to comply with the order, Haywood had no choice. Ana took him roughly by the wrist and tugged him bodily behind the piece of equipment they had just been "admiring." As he fell backwards onto his behind, Haywood mindlessly massaged his aching arm, but kept his eyes on the action. It was quite an impressive confrontation, which was probably due to Walsh's training program, and it seemed for a moment that Cartright might be able to hold his own out there. But, eventually Ensign Cartright's body gave to the strength of the Waagoshin. Blood dripping from his paws and mouth, the lead Waagoshin stood. "The circumstances of your visit has just changed." He annouced with a blood-chilling bark of a laugh, ""You will tell our commanders all they wish to know or you will die and afterwards you will become our slaves. I hope you will be slow to speak so that I might taste your flesh...You will go with us now." Haywood opened his mouth to argue, adrenanline and anger making him stupid. "Of course we will, we have no choice." Ana's voice was soft and submissive. Haywood couldn't help but throw her a disgusted look of shock. She was the last person he expected it from. ~Not until I help them!~ He thought angrily, moving his gaze to the kicking and heavily shaking bodies of the fallen security officers. Again, before he could argue, they were escorted from the room and the security men were dumped in an uncerimonious heap. Haywood could see from where he stood that there probably wasn't a great deal he could do for Cartright. The young man lie in his death throes, holding his intestines in his arms... But Morgenstern still had hope. "You will be taken to our holding cells now, if you are suitably fawning I might actually allow those two to live but I make no promises. You..." He pointed to Ana. "...I would enjoy teaching discipline and obedience to." "It might be worthwhile for you to try." Ana replied with a slight sensual tone in her voice. "But I'm not easily tamed." Haywood clenched his jaw tightly to keep it from gaping. "Take them." Krega barked, but before anything further took place, the four of them were suddenly enveloped in the familiar feel of the transporter. "Maybe some other time Krega." Ana finished as the room faded into nothingness. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades - Transporter Room - aCEO Ensign (jg) Eoin Mac Liam - 19:06) Eoin rematerialised on the transporter pad in the back of the room. As soon as the cycle ended, Straton began ordering everyone to their positions. "Ensign Parker get to sickbay, you are now acting CMO. We have wounded there. Ensign Mac Liam to Main Engineering, you are now acting CEO. I want maximum warp power as soon as you get there. Ensign T'Vof, McKenzie, and Walsh you are with me. Those bastards have taken the captain, Lt. Trommashere, and Wright hostage. We will need to get them back." "Understood." Eoin dashed down the steps, and was out the door before he really knew what had just happened. Though it meant that Darla was no longer among the crew, technically speaking, he was acting CEO. He thought on it for a split second. Then, the rational side of the brain reasserted itself. ~Okay, stop dwelling. You've got work to do.~ By this time, his breakneck pace had carried him to the turbolift. And as luck would have it, the lift was there already. He sprinted through the doors as they were closing, and screamed at the top of his lungs: "Main Engineering! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades, Transporter Room, COUNS, Ensign Anamitra Ripley, 1906.5) When they rematerialized on the transporter platform, Ana's hand was still raised and her fingers curled in the slow wave goodbye that she had given to Krega. The smile was still on her face until Eva started barking out the orders. "Ensign Parker get to sickbay, you are now acting CMO. We have wounded there. Ensign Mac Liam to Main Engineering, you are now acting CEO. I want maximum warp power as soon as you get there. Ensign T'Vof, Mackenzie, and Walsh you are with me. Ensign Ripley, your services will be needed in sickbay as well. Lets move people. Those bastards have taken the Captain. Lt. Trommashere, and Wright hostage. We will need to get them back." Her smile faded quickly when she had realized the truth of the commander's last sentence. That three of their shipmates had been kidnapped. Instead the smile was replaced by a degree of anger although the counselor managed to keep the majority of her displeasure off her face. With a nod, she followed the other officers out of the Transporter room, and quickly made her way to sickbay, right on parker's heels. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades, Transporter Room, ACMO Ensign Haywood Parker, 1906.7) Haywood fell hard on the transporter pad, but ignored it, managing to pull himself on his elbows over to the mess of injured security officers behind him. "Damn it!" He cursed, running his peripheral over the bodies of both. Cartright had not survived the transport, and Haywood didn't want to be the one to have to report it. He glanced up at Ana as she issued orders, "Ensign Parker get to sickbay, you are now acting CMO. We will need to get them back." "Help me," He finally said to Ana, pushing Cartright's body away from Morgenstern's. He could carry the security officer on his own, but it probably wouldn't be a fantastic idea. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades - Transporter Room - Engineer Ensign (jg) Arysha Tethlin -19:07) Once the Main Bridge had been secured, Arysha closed down the station she'd set up on the Acheron Bridge and returned to engineering. She'd run most of the way with the exception of when the ship shuddered under fire and she steadied herself with a hand to the wall in case the shiver turned into a roll or a buck. MacLiam practically dove into Main Engineering mere moments after she'd arrived and started ordering people about. "Muņoz! Martinez! Jackson! You're with me!" Arysha noted the colouration of the text that indicated he was shouting - she'd programmed shouting to be a somewhat violent green colour to clash with the normally placid white on black she was used to reading. Arysha turned and looked as the whole section jumped into gear. "What do-doE-Red?" Muņoz had come up beside her and to save himself the energy he simply nodded at Arysha's words. "We need to get the warp engines up to 100% yesterday!" The trio that Eoin had hollered at followed their intrepid leader into the tubes, but not before they'd grabbed their own kits and Jackson opened up a secure comline from the four man team to Arysha, who was already flitting her hands across diagnostic boards and setting up quick programs to double and triple the bio-pack outputs where it was safe to do so. Jackson waved a hand at her, "Sector 12-4 Rysh, bypass it, ok?" Arysha nodded and flashed the blonde haired crewman a smile in thanks. She took that moment to grab her Vox and shove it into a small port, bringing up a template with an old-fashioned clacker keyboard layout on it. One hand went to that and typed out a flash response that sounded over all four commbadges in Arysha's vox-voice. [12-4 bypass, good as done.] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades, Transporter Room, ACSO Ensign (JG) Kenneth McKenzie, 19:07.5 hours.) Kenny and his team rematerialised on the USS Hades. They were all glad to be back, as he could see. Kenny braced himself against the wall, catching his breath after he almost was killed. Despite what had just happened, he was not shaking as he thought he would be, but he was still a little shocked at seeing Lt Adams get killed by the Wagoshiin. Still, he knew there was no time to rest, They were still in Wagoshiin space and they had jobs to do. Commander Straton turned to them. "Ensign Parker get to sickbay, you are now acting CMO. We have wounded there. Ensign Mac Liam to Main Engineering, you are now acting CEO. I want maxi um warp power as soon as you get there. Ensign T'Vof, Mackenzie, and Walsh you are with me. Ensign Ripley, your services will be needed in sickbay as well. Lets move people. Those bastard have taken the Captain. Lt. Trommashere, and Wright hostage. We will need to get them back." Everyone responded to their orders. Kenny stepped down from the transporter pad, determined to do his as well. He was determined to help his crew to fight the Wagoshiin in whatever way he could. He followed the Commander, who was listing to reports via her COMM badge. She did not even slow down as they walked, her cold eyes focused and hard. As They walked down the corridors to the Bridge, Kenny could see what the Wagoshiin had done during there boarding. Here and there, phaser burns marked the walls, and several panels and controls were out, with damage to their faces. They entered a turbo lift as enemy fire rocked the ship. Kenny hoped they were not going to die after all they had gone through. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades - Main Engineering - aCEO Ensign (jg) Eoin Mac Liam - 19:07.7) "What do-do E-Red?" Arysha asked, with Muņoz silently nodding. "We need to get the warp engines up to 100% yesterday!" After looking through the diagnostics, Eoin dove into the Jeffires Tubes, followed closely by Muņoz, Martinez, and Jackson. After crawling about 3 meters towards the first junction Eoin would be operating on, he heard Jackson's voice over the comm. =/\= Secure commline established between the team and Arysha back in Main Engineering.=/\= "Brilliant, Jackson. Now get to Junction 29 Gamma and begin reducing plasma flow to the nacelles. Get it down to 10%." (reply Jackson) Eoin reached Junction 17 Beta, the one he was headed for, and opened the panel. He then heard Arysha's vox-voice over the comm. =/\=12-4 bypass, good as done.=/\= "Perfect. As soon as you're finished with that, Arysha, I'll need your fast hands. We're going to try our best to repair the engines without a full shutdown. Jackson is reducing the power to 10%, and I'll need you on beam confinement. As needed, you'll have to adjust the beam to make sure that Muņoz and Martinez don't get fried while working on the core. Jackson, as soon as you're done reducing power, divert as many systems as you can to the deuterium fission reactors to decrease the load on the warp core. Keep enough power running through the warp systems in order for us to jump to warp if need be. Then get to port nacelle control. I'll get to starboard, and we'll coordinate our repairs from there. Take someone else if you need them." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades - Transporter Room - aCEO Ensign (jg) Eoin Mac Liam - 19:08) Eoin exited the turbolift at a run, and rounded the corner into Main Engineering. "Muņoz! Martinez! Jackson! You're with me!" (reply Muņoz, Martinez, Jackson, IYW) "We need to get the warp engines up to 100% yesterday!" By that point, Eoin had put on his Engineering jumpsuit, grabbed his toolkit, and pulling up the latest warp engine diagnostics. After looking through quickly, he dove into the nearest Jeffries tube. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades - Main Engineering - Engineer Ensign (jg) Arysha Tethlin - 19:09) Her hands moved so fast that anyone with an imagination could pretty much see smoke rising from her fingers. Occasionally she spared a second to push her glasses up her nose as they slid down with the sweat that was starting to come up on her brow. She thought she might remove them, seeing as how she'd transfered their functions to the workstation - similar to what she'd done in the Acheron Bridge station. The work she was doing was delicate, any wrong move and they'd have two more casualties along with the ones she'd seen earlier and the time to spare was precious. =/\=Brilliant, Jackson. Now get to Junction 29 Gamma and begin reducing plasma flow to the nacelles. Get it down to 10%.=/\= Jackson's words were short but Arysha took that same moment as she read to tuck her glasses into her shoulder pocket. =/\=29 Gamma, I'm there yesterday.=/\= His blinking light on the display moved further to port and aft as he began making his way into the upper nacelle prop. Arysha had screens up everywhere; one was monitoring the location of all four of the team, one had her work splayed across it in a specific shorthand text that she'd created for this type of fast, finicky work and yet another was monitoring all the power as it flowed across the ship. The blip that was Eoin reached Junction 17 Beta and stopped. he responded to her last message with instructions of his own which ran up the screen just above her speech-keyboard. =/\=Perfect. I'll get to starboard and we'll coordinate our repairs from there. Take someone else if you need them.=/\= Martinez and Muņoz were moving closer and closer to the main core, but hadn't arrived yet, so Arysha continued working on bypasses surrounding those areas taking away as many opportunities for them to be fried while still giving them everything they needed to complete the job. Arysha watched Jackson stop by 29 Gamma and saw the change in the power grid shortly thereafter. The blip moved again further up the prop and soon came to a rest. Jackson was known for being a real grease monkey - fast in the tubes and quick with his tools. =/\=Rysh, send me someone would ya? I need a secondary up here.=/\= Arysha tapped out [OK] to Jackson and grabbed the nearest person. She yamked them over and pointed at Jackson's location, signing at him, {{Go there now}}. Larek Tomar nodded and grabbed a kit as he shimmied up the nearest ladder. Arysha watched the skinny Bajoran for seconds before getting back to her consoles. MnM, as she'd begun to think of them, were in position and waiting for the signal. She cleared everything that was complete and concentrated on the confinement beam, signalling the pair with [Go Guys]. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades, Bridge, ACSO Ensign (JG) Kenneth McKenzie, 19:13 hours.) As the turbo lift stopped at the doors to the Bridge, Kenny saw that they were ripped open, and Kenny thought that the Wagoshiin had physically torn them down with there claws. Never the less, Straton, walked past them as if nothing was wrong with them, taking command of the Bridge and listing to more reports. Kenny saw the blood and limbs around the place and was surprised when Staton was not even moved by it. Still, Kenny was starting to suspected that she was unbreakable with anything she saw. The blood smeared the walls and control panels and Kenny felt himself go cold again. The sight was not pleasant at all and he could see that he was not the only one to feel this way. He had not seen such carnage before and it was much worse that the sabotage attack that Kenny had saw when he first came to the Hades. It took Kenny a few moments to realised that he was the only person who had not taken a station. He had been looking and thinking about the blood that he saw. He snapped himself out of it and walked over to the Science Station and relived the person there. "Report." he said the to Science crewperson, a female black Human. "Since you have been away, Sir, we have been working on both MacLiams idea for scanning using the heat admitting from the Hades, and your idea of scanning using the optical sensors to send out frequent bursts of scans. Both have been tested and have been used already to gather some information on the Wagoshiin ship, but from what I can see, I don't think we need such subtle scanning anymore." "Aye, that's right." Kenny said, looking around. "Show me." As the crewperson opened some data files, Straton shouted over that she wanted Kenny and Jericho to scan for a save haven. After her order, Jericho came over to Kenny and spoke. "Mr. McKenzie we'll split the difference, you take the port arc 180 degrees from the bow to stern while I take the starboard. Look for any nebulae, asteroid fields, dust clouds or localized disturbances we can use to hide in or behind. Report to me if you find anything and I'll relay it to the Commander." "Aye Sir" He said and turned back to the crewperson. "Your report will have to wait, help me find someplace that the Hades can hide in or behind." She nodded and both of them used the Science Station to search the surrounding space for a place to hide. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades, Sickbay, COUNS, Ensign Anamitra Ripley, 1915) Any appetite that Ana may have once had had evaporated with the gore and mess that was spread around sickbay. There were numerous injuries of a horrendous type, worse than any she had ever seen, even during the civil war. She had some medical training, of course, all counselors did. She had aided and helped the medics triage, the doctors perform emergency procedures and had called out the time's of death for more of her crewmates than she liked to think about. After only fifteen minutes, her uniform and hands were covered in blood, and she had tears running down her cheeks. She had just closed the eyes of the third crewman who had wanted some semblance of peace before he had died. His grip had gone slack and the biobed had set off the alert that told the doctors that he had expired. She reached up and pressed the button that silenced the alarm and took a deep breath. The contents of her stomach would have forced their way out of her, had they not already done so several minutes earlier. She picked up the PADD that had been sitting beside the biobed and recorded,"Ensign Joel Kingly, time of death Stardate 2408.07.27 1918 hours. Cause ofdeath, massive abdominal trauma." The device chirped in acknowledgement and Ana finally losing her cool, turned and quickly headed for the surgical preparation area to do something about all the blood. She was no sooner through the door, than she was peeling the uniform top from her body and tossing it aside. Some of the blood had soaked through the material and had left a macabre pattern of the fabric in a bloody display across her belly. She thrust her hands under the sonic cleaner and started making scrubbing motions as the device went to work. It was efficient, the blood that had been caked there flaked away, was stripped from her flesh, just as the flesh had been stripped off those wounded individuals that had been attacked by the Waagoshin. The more she scrubbed the less she felt that she was getting clean. Her clinical mind recognized the beginnings of mental trauma, but self diagnosis was not the most important thing on her mind at the moment. She just wanted to be clean. She turned and stepped into the full body sonic shower. She didn't bother getting any further undressed. The waves of sonic energy coaxed the dried blood from the skin of her belly and out of the fabric of her bra and trousers. She knew that she was clean, clear of the blood and gore that had marked the death of those personnel that were beyond help. Her emotional agony began to transform then. It metamorphosed from this sickness wrought of emotional anguish and kindled into a flame of agony and rage. Her frustration with being unable to deal with this sudden thrust of emotion caused tears to boil from her eyes, and slide down her cheek to be caught and soaked up by the fabric of her uniform tunic. She sobbed, painful, full body wracking sobs of pain, anger and frustration. It was a catharsis for all the helplessness that she was feeling at the moment and she knew that it was the beginning of the healing that she needed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades, Sickbay, Acting CMO Ensign Haywood Parker, 1916) It was Haywood's first dose of true carnage. Where before he worked with a group of twenty scientists, he was now exposed to the reality of life after a full-on attack. It took work to blunt his emotions, but he did what was necessary to save the lives he could. Covered in blood and gore, Haywood mended a gash to a leg and with a final scan with his peripheral, he moved onto his next patient. He'd never, in a million years, thought he'd ever see this much suffering condensed into one small space. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades, Bridge, CSO Jericho Haynes, 19:18) Commander Straton was snapping orders almost as soon as she had entered the bridge and despite the carnage the crew was reacting like a well oiled machine thanks to their training. Baylon had turned over command and concentrated on tactical as the Hades broke through the Waagoshin picket line. When they were through they jumped to full warp to accelerate away from the pack of ship and were out of the system. "Scan for pursuit," The order was elementary and Jack was already following the Waagoshin's movements behind them, the ships were spreading out and joining with the other element that had originally entered the Tch'kair system, when they faced them again the odds would be far less palatable. "Mr. Haynes..." Jack turned his head and listened closely as the FO addressed him. "...we will need a place to lay low. I want you and Mr. Mackenzie to find us some place where the Waagoshin won't find us too quickly. When that is done, I want to know how the Waagoshin got the Captain and others off this ship." Jack noddded as she looked from him at the mess that was the bridge. "Understood commander." Motioning to Ken to catch his attention he tapped his combadge. "Mr. McKenzie we'll split the difference, you take the port arc 180 degrees from the bow to stern while I take the starboard. Look for any nebulae, asteroid fields, dust clouds or localized disturbances we can use to hide in or behind. Report to me if you find anything and I'll relay it to the Commander." (Reply: Kenneth) "I want a senior officers meeting in two hours or once we are sure we are not being pursued. We will need to devise a strategy for getting our people back." Jack turned back to her. "Commander I suggest we go to cloak until we find a suitable hiding place and change course to throw them off our track, we're leaving them a good trail to follow at the moment." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Tch'kair orbit, Orbital platform, Command center, Alpha 1, 19:25) "Update!" Alpha 1 howled at the image on the viewer. =^= Two of our plasma vents have been damaged.=^= Graffna reported. =^= I have had to reduce speed until they are repaired and we cannot cloak. The Hades has vectored toward the smaller element of our battle group and forced their way through. They are leaving the system with all ships in pursuit.=^= Alpha 1 stalked through the command center in a rage at the report. The Waagoshin ships had been stationed outside the system cloaked for the purpose of drawing tight a net to contain the Hades should they manage to elude the initial capture. The Hades had but the ships had been unable to cut them off. More failure! =^= How did they survive the quantum disruptor weapon? I saw it impact their ship.=^= "That is unknown." This detail was the most troubling to the commander. Their most devestating weapon had been shrugged off by the ship as though it were of no consequence, how had they survived it? Had he underestimated the aliens? Quite obviously but he had the advantage of numbers and prisoners besides with the information they carried. It was unlikely the aliens would accept the capture of their Alpha without reprisal, he would be ready when they returned. A duo of Waagoshin entered the command center then for the purpose of extracting the corpse of the former Alpha 4 which reminded him of another matter. "I will interrogate the slaves in the interimn, have the warband continue pursuit of the Hades and capture them if possible. The system defenses are on maximum alert if they try to return." He bristled at Graffana. "And do not fail me number 2." Graffna nodded soberly. =^= Repairs to the Graelridge will be completed within the hour and we will move out to coordinate the search.=^= At Alpha 1's signal the communication was ended and he snapped a button. "Gnarrel to the command center." There was the matter of choosing another Alpha 4 to coordinate the defenses so that the Hades would find it impossible to sneak into the system. That done he whipped his head toward Kronty. "Inform my slave to return from the garrison as soon as the updates have been entered into the garrisons systems and their techs to oversee the final stages." He would need all the expertise at his disposal soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (Graelridge- Medical Area -aCEO Lieutenant Darla Wright- 1928) "Here are the two female slaves!" the Waagoshin holding Angeni's collar barked once they had arrived. "Slaves my tawny behind!" Barked back Angeni. Once again, she was brought to her knees by the collar before being rudely picked back up. They were told in no uncertain terms where they were to go and they were nearly hurled into the chamber. Angeni lay on the floor for a moment before she struggled drunkenly to her feet. After she rose, she turned to Darla, and wiped the small drop off blood from the corner of her mouth. "Are you okay, Darla? Are you hurt anywhere?" "I'm fine." Darla replied, "No permanent damage." Angeni put a hand on the woman's shoulder, looking her deep in the eyes, but before she could say anything, they were asked to remove their clothing. "Do they want us completely naked or just to our skivvies?" Angeni shook her head, "I don't think you or I can tolerate these puppy shock collars too much longer. I'm used to running around in my birthday suit..." "That's kind of what I thought." Darla replied, then began to strip as well. Darla placed her clothes and everything that she was carrying except for her jewelry into the designated slot. Once they were both nude, the chamber was activated and some sort of very heavy sonic vibration cleansed them of any concept of dirt. Darla would have enjoyed the luxury of the shower if it weren't for the prying unwanted eyes and the situation that she found herself in. There was way too much attention even for someone of her particular appetites. Darla crossed one arm across her breasts and dropped the other to cover her more sensitive and private parts. It wasn't so much from a sense of modesty that she was covering herself, it was more from a sense of deep vulnerability at this very moment. She suppressed a shudder and looked over at Angeni who was fundamentally covering herself in a similar manner. "I promise, come hell or high water, we're getting out of here!" Darla tried to force a smile, but it some across as more of a frown. She answered, "Well I think Hell is already here, when do you think we can expect the high water?" (reply Angeni) Darla heard a humming sound, this one different from the sonic sound that the shower made. It was the sound of an actuator and she turned her head to follow the noise until she spotted the drawer opening off to the left. =^=Knaz no'kal fig'gorlweck yip gerllll*=^= the speakers of the chamber reported. It took a few moments for Darla to realize that they were hearing the Waagoshin language without the benefit of the Universal translator. Their commbadges had been attached to their uniforms and had not been returned. That was going to make things considerably more difficult if they were forced to communicate with their captors. "Angeni, I think he wants us to do something." (reply Angeni) =^=Knaz no'kal fig'gorlweck yip gerllll=^= the operator on the other side repeated, this time a bit more abruptly. Darla wandered over towards the drawer and noted two gray jumpsuits inside. She reached in, pulled both out and with a genuine smile tossed one to Angeni. "Well they don't seem to be complete pervs." Darla commented and started dressing in her own gray jumpsuit. (reply Angeni) Darla finished dressing quickly, and quickly twisted up her hair to get it up off her collar. If she ended up in a fight the last thing she wanted was some Waagoshin ripping out handfuls of her hair. When they were done, a door other than the one that they had entered through into the chamber slid open and the Waagoshin barked his commands through the speaker. =^= G'ozkik Brokal Grlll, Sn'llkork*=^= That command was fairly easy to figure out and Darla gestured to Angeni and the two women complied with the perceived command. On the other side a pair of Waagoshin were waiting for them. They had a small table -like platform before them. On those platforms was a device that was very similar to a hypo sprayer. They gestured to a pair of semi-circles on the floor. "I think they want use to step into the circles." Darla replied. (reply Angeni) Darla nodded, then stepped into one of the circles while Angeni took the other. A restraining field hummed into place around them, making it impossible for either of them to move. Once it was active, the Two Waagoshin stepped down from their tables and approached them, one for Angeni and one for Darla. They were carrying the Air hypo like device in their hands. The one that approached Darla reached up and positioned the device against the side of her skull just behind and slightly below her left ear. There was a crunching noise and a sharp pain that felt almost as if some one had driven a nail into her skull. The pain subsided quickly and didn't seem to have any long-lasting side effects. Other than a dull throbbing at that point in her head. The Waagoshin then pressed the device against her throat, hear the side of her larynx, and the pain and crunching noise was repeated. This time, she could feel the warm trickle of blood running down her neck. The Waagoshin then took a device of some sort from a pouch that they were wearing on their belts and activated it. A bone deep vibration resounded through her skull for a moment as the creature ran the device over the injured area of her head. A few moments later it repeated the process on her throat. The sensation of pain, discomfort and injury ceased and the Waagoshin turned and returned to it's platform. It was joined a few moments later by the Waagoshin that had been at Angeni. When they were settled, they deactivated the restraining field and Darla could finally shift her weight between feet. She reached one hand up to her head, where the pain had been but could find no aberration there. A similar tactile probe of her neck also revealed nothing. "You okay Ang?' She asked the CMO. "Of course she is unharmed." A voice said, in her left ear, even though her right was hearing the Waagoshin technician speaking to them in it's own language. "We have only imbedded the Translation device. It is a harmless procedure." Darla looked at Angeni. Then a second door opened and the Guards that had escorted them here entered the room. "You will come with us slaves." the leader barked and motioned with the control rod that they should exit the room. "It is time for the medical scans. If you behave, we may eventually feed you and allow you some rest before we interrogate you, But I make no promises." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Graelridge- Medical Area ~ CMO Angeni O. Windsong-Trommashere- 1930) Darla tried to force a smile, but it some across as more of a frown. She answered, "Well I think Hell is already here, when do you think we can expect the high water?" Angeni turned to Darla, a small smile on her face. She glanced around at her surroundings and she sighed heavily, afraid to even bend down for a moment for fear of the collar going off again. She fingered the collar gently before sighing deeply. "I think it's already here...give me a moment..." Angeni wracked her brain, tugging hard at her earlobe. She sure didn't have any weapons hidden anywhere, so that wasn't an option. They were never going to be in a situation where it was the two of them versus one guard, and she wasn't going to let Darla get separated from her. Angeni put a hand to her back and winced; she knew she was going to feel it in the morning...if there was a morning. Suddenly, she heard a humming sound, and she looked in the direction that Darla had glanced in. She moved a step closer, looking in the drawer. =^=Knaz no'kal fig'gorlweck yip gerllll*=^= the speakers of the chamber reported. Angeni blinked. It was the first time she had heard the Waagoshin language without the automatic translation. Suddenly her eyes widened, but before she could say anything, Darla spoke. "Angeni, I think he wants us to do something." "I see that, I think it has to do with the clothes...do you think...nah...they probably have their own translator of sorts..." =^=Knaz no'kal fig'gorlweck yip gerllll=^= the operator on the other side repeated, this time a bit more abruptly. Angeni flinched at the voice, and gladly took the clothes from Darla. It wasn't that she didn't like being sans clothing, it was awkward with what she felt like ninety million eyes on her. She untied the leather thong from around her wrist, tying it around her hair. The pony-tail fanned over her back as she shook her head a few times. She felt her muscles starting to stiffen, and she paced in her spot, trying to loosen up a bit. "Well they don't seem to be complete pervs." Darla commented and started dressing in her own gray jumpsuit. "Thank the Mother for small things." She heaved a heavy sigh, "Now, if She would be so kind as to show us the way out of here, I'd be eternally gratefull." She tilted her eyes upward for a moment, then she smiled, shrugging her shoulders. Her heart heaved in her chest, but she willed herself not to be scared. Panic would keep her from thinking straight, and that was the last thing they needed at the moment. She heard her own Father in her head, reminding her that no matter what, to not show fear or cower in the face of her enemies. She put on her best, reassuring smile and she looked around, putting her hand on the metal walls, feeling for anything. Suddenly, the door slid open and another command was barked. =^= G'ozkik Brokal Grlll, Sn'llkork*=^= Angeni smiled at Darla and took a step through the door. She was confronted with two Waags who didn't seem too concerned with the pair. The half hearted gesture to the circles made Angeni respond with her own dumb dog look. "I think they want use to step into the circles." Darla replied. "I see that." Out of reflex, she spoke again, "I'm not comfortable with this...can we get a second opinion?" She winced, expecting to get shocked, and she looked at Darla, "Never mind, let's just do it, see what happens.." As she watched Darla step in, Angeni followed close behind. The raven haired woman felt a small vibration go up her body, and in reflex, she went to rub her arm, but she couldn't move her arm. She slowly began to panic, feeling like a caged lion. The Waagoshin "medical professional" moved over to her with what reminded her of a sinister looking hypospray. She didn't want it coming any closer to her. The Waagoshin fiddled with the device as she heard the sickening crunch of bone being broken. Angeni closed her eyes, the only thing she was actually able to do, trying to block out the noise. She heard it again, and her knees trembled. She couldn't turn her head to look at Darla, so for all she knew, the woman was dead. Angeni fought hard, trying to keep a stoic look on her face while her mind was racing a million miles an hour. Angeni felt the pressure of the device against her head, and Angeni wondered if the last thing she'd see was the hairy arm-pit of some over-sized puppy. She squinted her eyes tight and she felt what seemed like a firey poker being driven into her skull. For a moment, everything was numb, the only feeling was a throbbing pain, but slowly she started to hear her own heart beat thrumming in her ears. She opened her eyes druggidly, the paisley spots of pain clouding her vision. She felt the device press against her throat, and she heard her own hyoid bone being violated. Once again, her eyes glazed over, but she soon recovered. She started to hum softly, making sure whatever it was hadn't disrupted her vocal cords or her trachea. A tenative swallow showed no injury to her esophagus. Realizing that she wasn't in the Happy Hunting Grounds helped her to figure that Darla was in the same shape she was. She gritted her teeth as the Waag ran something akin to the dermal regenerator over her head and throat, rattling her teeth inside her skull for a few moments. Angeni closed her eyes, then realized that she had all of her weight on her feet and that she was clenching and unclenching her fists. First thing was first, she moved over to Darla, looking her over quickly. "You okay Ang?' She asked the CMO. Angeni opened her mouth to answer, but was cut off by the suddenly English speaking Waagoshin. "Of course she is unharmed. We have only imbedded the Translation device. It is a harmless procedure." Darla looked at Angeni. Angeni looked at the guard, rubbing the back of her neck, and she straightened up, looking at the Tech. "Thank you...for not killing us." She smiled briefly, honestly meaning it. They could've snapped their necks in a moment and no one would've cared. She bowed her head slightly, then she smiled again. "Thank you." Then a second door opened and the Guards that had escorted them here entered the room. "You will come with us slaves." the leader barked and motioned with the control rod that they should exit the room. "It is time for the medical scans. If you behave, we may eventually feed you and allow you some rest before we interrogate you, But I make no promises." Angeni turned to Darla. "I really don't like this whole idea...but...lets do this..." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Waagoshin Shuttlecraft- Holding compartment -aCEO Lieutenant Darla Wright-1934) The Waagoshin taskmasters had taken Darla and Angeni to a shuttlecraft, forced them inside and then locked them into a single cage like compartment together. The interior of the shuttle craft was obviously designed specifically for the purpose of transporting either prisoners or slaves and so Darla knew then that the Waagoshin were anything but new to the act of slavery. "Looks like their moving us somewhere else." Darla commented to Angeni as she tested the strength of the materials that acted like a lattice of bars. "Titanium alloys I think" She added for her own benefit as much as for sharing the information with Angeni. The Engineer spun then, placed her back against the bars, propped herself up with her hands and then wedged her legs against the back wall of the compartment. With a grunt she tried to force the door to the small cell-like compartment open, but as suspected the material and locking mechanism was just too strong and didn't even flex. She was breathing a bit hard when she finally stopped trying to force the door open. "Guess that's not going to work." she commented. A few moments later a Waagoshin guard approached and pointed the control rod at the two women. "We have arrived, back away from the door." he ordered. There wasn't much room in the compartment, but Darla complied, pressing herself against the back wall as much as possible. A moment later, the Door opened with an audible click reminiscent of a magnetic lock and the Guard swung the door aside. "Move slaves." The Waagoshin taskmaster ordered with a demonstrative wave of his baton. Darla looked at Angeni and then followed the orders given to her. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades, Acheron Bridge, aCO Commander Straton, 19:35) Eva had taken only enough time to change uniforms then was back inthe command chair on the Acheron's Bridge watching the sensor data as itcame in. There were already signs that the Waagoshin were in pursuit ofthe Hades, though they were still far off.. ~Ensign T'Vof is probablyright. They will try to harry us and wear us down. This prey doesn'tintend to run forever though.~ Eva thought, her tactical mind already atwork on attack plans and contingency plans. "Lt. Trinin," Eva said, not taking her eyes off the sensor data shewas looking at. "I want you and Ensign T'Vof to go over every last pieceof tactical sensor data we have on the Waagoshin. I want strategies andtactics you two feel we can use to defeat them, be prepared to present yourideas at the senior officers meeting." (Reply Trinin, T'Vof) Eva then pushed a button on the arm of her chair. "Straton toSickbay. I'm going to need Commander Zzt back on duty as soon as possible.Within the next hour and a half preferably." (Reply Sickbay) Eva turned her eyes to the main view screen wanting to join Trininand T'Vof in going over the tactical data and brain storming tactics andstrategies, but also knowing she needed to learn to delegate. She would goover their recommendations at the meeting and have her opportunity to addher own ideas then, for now she was needed on the Bridge just in case aWaagoshin ship got too close. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades, Acheron Bridge, ATAC Ensign (jg) Lo'ren T'Vof, 19:36) Lo'ren was keeping an eye on the three Waagoshin ships that were still dogging the Hades while she wrote her away mission report and tried to begin a personal letter to Jon Adams' family. She may not have been required -seeing as how she wasn't the head of his department - but she felt that it would be unfair for her not to say anything, she'd been in the room when he died. The Dogs were staying out of weapons range, but well within scanning range. They were really keeping an eye on the ship. ~At least it's further opportunity to study their tech.~ She watched them and paid close attention to the movements they made, noting the definite pack movements and the deference to one ship. She'd begun compiling various ideas to run past Lt.Trinin and added some of that information. Lo'ren looked up as her name was called out by Commander Straton. "Lt.Trinin, I want you and Ensign T'Vof to go over every last piece of tactical sensor data we have on the Waagoshin. I want strategies and tactics you two feel we can use to defeat them, be prepared to present your ideas at the senior officers meeting." Nodding, Lo'ren looked over at Tac I and waited for Trinin to make a move before she went anywhere. (reply Trinin) As Straton called sickbay and asked for the theoretical engineer to be returned to duty ASAP, Lo'ren called up a replacement to Tac II and went over to work with Trinin. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Waagoshin Shuttlecraft- Holding compartment -CMO Angeni O. Windsong-Trommashere- 1937) The Waagoshin taskmasters had taken Darla and Angeni to a shuttlecraft, forced them inside and then locked them into a single cage like compartment together. Angeni moved into the cage, leaning against one of the walls. It reminded her of the inside of the Jeffries tubes, but open. Enough room to turn around in, sure as heck not enough room to do much else in. She put a hand against the cage walls, trying to see out the holes to whatever else was around. "Looks like their moving us somewhere else." "Yeah...where is my question." She pushed against the bars again, this time putting more force behind it. She grunted lightly, pushing as hard as she could against the door, but she sagged against the floor of her cage, sighing deeply. "Titanium alloys I think." "Why couldn't this be a pre-warp civilization? You know, using vines and sticks to make cages..." Angeni pressed herself as far up against the far wall as she watched Darla use her strenght to try to open the door. She watched, keeping her fingers crossed, hoping Darla was stronger than her and could force the door open. Angeni even leaned into the door with her shoulder, pushing as hard as she could. "Guess that's not going to work." Angeni smiled sadly, putting her hand on Darla's shoulder, giving it a squeeze. "I'll give you an A for effort though.." A few moments later a Waagoshin guard approached and pointed the control rod at the two women. "We have arrived, back away from the door." Angeni glared dangerously at the guard, but she took a baby step away from the door. "Move slaves." The Waagoshin taskmaster ordered with a demonstrative wave of his baton. Angeni smirked, but kept her comments to herself. She was sure they could understand her, and she wasn't about to get either of them in hot water, so she nodded slightly at Darla and stepped out of the cage. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades, Acheron Bridge, -aCTAC/ CSEC Lieutenant Baylon Trinin- 1938) They had broken thorough the Waagoshin ship fleet and Baylon had turned over the Tactical station to T'Vof, by simply transferring the security department details to his console at the Tac I station. Walsh had been injured when one of the consoles had exploded during the breakout and had been sent down to sickbay to recover. Lo'ren was doing well enough and her skill made him proud to be her department head. While she had focused on the Tactical aspects of their situations, Baylon had turned to other pursuits. T'Sol was conducting a detailed search of the ship looking for unwanted devices or intruders. The first sweep had revealed nothing. Still Baylon had ordered a second sweep, while he poured over the sensor data on the system. "Lt. Trinin," Eva said, "I want you and Ensign T'Vof to go over every last piece of tactical sensor data we have on the Waagoshin. I want strategies and tactics you two feel we can use to defeat them, be prepared to present your ideas at the senior officers meeting." "Aye commander." Baylon replied in acknowledgement, "Ensign T'Vof, We'll move our study to the auxiliary station." (reply T'Vof) Baylon gestured for one of the bridge specialists to take over the TACI/security station and headed to the back of the bridge where the auxiliary stations waited for them. As she arrived, he pulled the tactical data up and focused it on the small battle group that was presently looking for the Hades. "As you know the two smaller Battle groups have combined into a single eight ship group. The Graelridge is still some distance off, due to her engine repairs." "It's my opinion that we need to conduct three types of operations here." "The first is to reduce any significant threat to this ship. The larger battle group specifically." he said as he tapped the screen and pulled the display out to a larger area. "The second would be to create as much trouble for the Waagoshin as possible. These could act as diversionary, or at least force denial operations to better the odds of conducting a raid against the Waagoshin to recover our missing officers." He pointed out three separate targets. "The third and fifth planet have heavy fortresses in place to control the populace and to add defensive capability to the system against an attack. It is my suggestion that we send assault teams to these planets with the intention to reduce these strongpoints, thus removing them as a military asset and also forcing the Waagoshin to respond with forces that might otherwise be available to them to hinder the Hades success in their rescue operation." "The last target is the administrative facilities located on Tch'Kair. If we can disrupt it, cause general mayhem for the Waagoshin commander on the primary planet, we can force them to shift personnel and resources to maintaining control of the planet which should leave that much less for them to throw against the Hades." "What ideas do you have for achieving these goals, or do you have any other ideas?" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades, Acheron Bridge, - ATAC Ensign (jg) Lo'ren T'Vof - 1939) "Ensign T'Vof, We'll move our study to the auxiliary station." Trinin spoke as he began moving. "Yes, sir." Lo'ren moved to the Aux station with Trinin after she'd made sure a replacement was on the way. She watched and listened as he ran down the situation, her mind buzzing with information until he gave her a chance to speak. "What ideas do you have for achieving these goals, or do you have any other ideas?" Lo'ren was still considering some things, but launched into her thoughts anyhow. "The Waagoshin are truely pack animals, I think we can used that against them. If we can create our own 'pack', I'd bet they'd be confused enough to give us an advantage. Facing the battle group, I think we need to be in tri-vector mode, plus we should lance the Runabouts. The fire-power isn't much but it would divide their attention that much more. (reply Trinin) Lo'ren considered this, "They defer to Graffna's ship, sir. The other thing we need to do to the battle group is get rid of the Graelridge, it would cause confusion and give us a momentary advantage. That and making no such accomodations in our pack - that is, having no discernable pack leader -would do a lot. "As for diversionary tactics, I think one or two-man teams, no more than three for sure, would be better there. We have the means to disguise our people as Tch'kairn workers, I'd send in a couple of those who've had the heavy ordinance training, that would get us in quite well. We also have a couple of aces in the hole. There is a resistance movement amongst the slaves, sir. If we can get in contact with them it would go a long way to creating those diversions." (reply Trinin) "My information is that the Fractal signal we received has not been in use since the Waagoshin took over. I think they don't know it exists, so if we can find a way to harness that system for contact we could get the people to provide the distraction." (reply Trinin) Lo'ren nodded, "There's also the Niglik, whose touch telepathy made be able to help us as well, though that's an idea I haven't gotten far with yet." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (Tch'Kair orbit - Orbital station -- Shuttle Bay- aCEO Lieutenant DarlaWright- 1940) The compartment that they stepped into was a shuttle bay of massive scale. Hundreds of craft, personnel everywhere, many of them non-Waagoshin, and a flurry of activity gave Darla the impression that they were most likely on the Orbital space station. "This way slaves." The Waagoshin overseer ordered. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades, Acheron Bridge, -aCTAC/ CSEC Lieutenant Baylon Trinin- 1941) "The Waagoshin are truly pack animals, I think we can used that against them. If we can create our own 'pack', I'd bet they'd be confused enough to give us an advantage. Facing the battle group, I think we need to be in tri-vector mode, plus we should launch the Runabouts. The fire-power isn't much but it would divide their attention that much more." Baylon considered Lo'ren's reply. "I'll put the idea forward, but the runabouts won't be able to handle taking a hit from any of those ships. That aspect might be too risky." he said. "Still we'll give the idea to commander Straton and let her decide." "Any other ideas?" Lo'ren considered this, "They defer to Graffna's ship, sir. The other thing we need to do to the battle group is get rid of the Graelridge, it would cause confusion and give us a momentary advantage. That and making no such accommodations in our pack - that is, having no discernable pack leader -would do a lot." "As for diversionary tactics, I think one or two-man teams, no more than three for sure, would be better there. We also have a couple of aces in the hole. There is a resistance movement amongst the slaves, sir. If we can get in contact with them it would go a long way to creating those diversions." Baylon's ears perked at the mention of a resistance group. He had a lot of experience with resistance movements, he himself had been a member on Andoria and Kimdan III. "I like that option" he finally stated. "I think it might be time prohibitive to undergo such extreme cosmetic alteration though, besides the change is significant and I'm not certain that medical could pull it off. However, three man teams from the Heavy ordinance group is a good idea. You up to leading one of them on one of the smaller raids? I could have T'Sol Coordinate Tactical and Security. You could crack the facility on the third planet, which looks bigger and more important than the facility on the fifth world. I can make contact with the resistance on Tch'Kair. Another team could hit the facility on the fifth planet." "We take extra weapons for the purpose of meeting with resistance cells in those locations. Arming them and teaching them the basics. We teach them how to defend themselves and they can carry the fight to the Waagoshin as well. I could take a full security team with me to the home world. You and the other team can insert by modified infiltration torpedoes, one per person and another for additional equipment." "Any ideas how to contact them?" he asked then. "My information is that the Fractal signal we received has not been in use since the Waagoshin took over. I think they don't know it exists, so if we can find a way to harness that system for contact we could get the people to provide the distraction." "I'd hazard a guess that the resistance already knows were here. I'll suggest to the commander that we get someone from Sciences to work out a way to send them a message." Lo'ren nodded, "There's also the Niglik, whose touch telepathy made be able to help us as well, though that's an idea I haven't gotten far with yet." "They're on the station?" Baylon asked rhetorically. "There is a chance that they could aid the main rescue team when the station is assaulted. That could be a great advantage to our teams there. If they are telepaths then making contact with them should be easy enough." "These are good thoughts, let's see what commander Straton says at the meeting. In the meantime plan your assault on the facility on the third world and be prepared to give the commander an overview of your proposed operations there. See to it that either you or another officer does the same for the emplacement on the fifth planet as well." "I'll organize plans for the home world and we'll see how the commander wants to deal with the Station." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Hades, Acheron Bridge, - ATAC Ensign (jg) Lo'ren T'Vof - 1943) "These are good thoughts, let's see what commander Straton says at the meeting. See to it that either you or another officer does the same for the emplacement on the fifth planet as well." "I'll organize plans for the home world and we'll see how the commander wants to deal with the Station." Lo'ren nodded at the orders, her mind beginning to calculate who she wanted with her on the third planet. She was about to turn away when she remembered something about the Nilglik that could be helpful in an assault. "Lieutenant, there's one other thing about the Niglik. In the shared memory I was given, they too fought like a pack. But they didn't give a verbal signal." Lo'ren hesitated, because her thought wasn't of fact but intuited, "Sir, I think the signal was temperature related; specifically that they go into a group frenzy when body temperature is lowered." (reply Trinin) Lo'ren nodded and went ahead with her assigned task. She headed over to the science station first. Jack and Kenny were still both around, but looked visibly more relaxed with the Waagoshin not completely on thair tail. Lo'ren sensed that Jack was as relaxed as an alert situation would allow. She placed a hand on his shoulder and asked, "Do you have anything on the third and fifth planets and the facilities there? I need to plan assault teams andthe intel would be useful." (reply Jack) She smiled at that and realized that she'd needed to hear his voice as much as get the information, "It's good to hear your voice, Jack." Her eyes misted over for a second before she reigned in her emotions. (reply Jack) She took the PADD that was offered and let her fingers brush his momentarily before pulling away, letting the electricity bolster her with a bit of extra courage. Lo'ren squared her shoulders, "Gotta go, work to do. Thanks, Jack." (reply Jack iyw) Lo'ren moved away from science and seeing as how Tac II was manned she left the capable officer there and headed to the turbolift. She tapped her combadge and called out the names she'd short listed, "Mr. Ilis, Mr. Morin,Ms. Harvey, Ensign Grath and Mr. Korvir report to the Tactical Office immediately." Stepping into the turbolift Lo'ren snapped off her destination, "Deck 7." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Tch'Kair orbit - Orbital station -- Interrogation room- aCEO Lieutenant Darla Wright- 1945) Once again, Angeni and Darla were together in a small room. This one was atleast 4 meters by four meters and was dominated by a large metal table, welded to the floor. A pair of chairs were magnetically connected to the floor as well They could be slid around the room, but they could not be lifted, at least not by either of the women here. One wall of the compartment was obviously dominated by one-way materials. The others were not. A cluster of electronics was mounted to the ceiling. Darla was fairly certain that she could reach them if she stood on the table, but that she probably wouldn't have enough time to do anything if she tried. She suspected that the Waagoshin would be in the room very rapidly. In an attempt to distract herself, she turned to the Cherokee woman that washer present company and asked, "What do you think they did with the captain?" (reply Angeni) She nodded, absorbing the doctor's answer. "And the away team? Do you think they got back to the Hades?" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- end compile
